Why Great Sex Is One of the Most Powerful Longevity Practices

Why Intimacy Is One of the Most Important Longevity Practices You’re Probably Not Talking About

I recently had the pleasure of joining Lynn Hardy on The Aging Games Podcast, a show dedicated to exploring longevity, health, and the human experience. Lynn brings together science and wisdom to help people live longer, stronger, and more authentically, and I was honored to be part of that conversation.

If you’ve followed my work over the years, you know that I believe intimacy isn’t just about pleasure—it’s a vital component of lifelong health, vitality, happiness, and connection. Yet it’s still one of the least discussed aspects of healthy aging.

That’s exactly why I was excited to sit down with Lynn.

The Conversation We All Need to Be Having

For more than two decades, I’ve been teaching pleasure-based sex education because I saw a huge gap in what most people were taught—or more accurately, what they were never taught. We receive very little practical guidance about how our intimate lives evolve as we age, and even less encouragement to explore what’s possible.

During our conversation, we tackled topics that many people experience but few feel comfortable discussing openly.

We talked about:

  • How intimacy and pleasure contribute to overall health and longevity
  • Why orgasm is much more than a pleasurable experience
  • The connection between sexual vitality and whole-body wellness
  • How intimacy can continue to deepen and improve throughout life
  • Why age does not have to mean decline in your sex life

One of the things I appreciated most about this episode was Lynn’s willingness to ask the questions people are often thinking but rarely voice.

Addressing the Real Challenges of Aging

We also got into some very practical discussions around common age-related changes, including:

  • Vaginal dryness
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Decreased sensitivity
  • Changes in libido
  • Maintaining intimacy in long-term relationships

Rather than treating these as inevitable problems to endure, we explored the many solutions available today.

I shared options ranging from simple at-home practices and lifestyle changes to more advanced regenerative therapies, including:

  • PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) treatments
  • Laser therapies
  • Red light therapy devices
  • Modern sexual wellness technologies

What I love about this conversation is that we organized these solutions into practical categories—from easy entry-level approaches to more advanced interventions—so listeners can find options that fit their comfort level and goals.

A Real Show-and-Tell

One unique aspect of this episode is that I actually walk through some of the tools and devices I personally use and recommend.

This isn’t just theoretical information.

I believe in sharing what’s working in real life, and I know that seeing these products demonstrated can help remove uncertainty and embarrassment around exploring new solutions.

If you’ve ever wondered what sexual biohacking looks like in practice, this episode offers an honest look behind the curtain.

Long-Term Love, Partnership, and Deeper Connection

Lynn and I also discussed my relationship with my husband and the ways we’ve continued to grow our intimacy over the years.

We explored concepts such as yoni and yoni massage in a grounded, accessible way that helps demystify these practices and makes them easier to understand and appreciate.

One of the greatest myths about aging is that intimacy becomes less important over time.

My experience—and the experience of thousands of couples I’ve worked with—is exactly the opposite.

When we have the right information, the right tools, and the willingness to stay curious, intimacy can become richer, more connected, and more satisfying than ever before.

The more openly we talk about intimacy, pleasure, and sexual wellness, the more empowered we become to enjoy vibrant, connected lives at every age.
