Getting older doesn’t have to mean leaving pleasure, passion, or connection behind. I want you to feel curious about what’s still possible in your intimate life—and confident that you can keep learning about yourself and your partner.
That’s why I was delighted to join Iain Eyre on the Live Longer & Love It Podcast for a conversation about intimacy, longevity, and sexual vitality. We explored how our intimate lives can evolve as we age, and why communication, curiosity, and a willingness to learn deserve a place in that conversation.
When I think about living longer, I also think about how I want those years to feel. Connection, pleasure, and meaningful relationships are part of that picture.
Living Longer and Loving Those Years
Iain’s podcast explores healthspan, wealthspan, and lifespan with a focus on creating a life that feels energetic, connected, and purposeful.
His conversations cover sleep, stress, nutrition, movement, healthy aging, mindset, financial wellbeing, emotional health, and midlife reinvention. With guests from across longevity, relationships, wellbeing, performance, and personal finance, the show brings these subjects into the lives of busy adults who want more good years.
Our conversation brings intimacy into that broader picture. What do we want to experience with the years ahead of us? How do we keep making room for affection, discovery, and joy?
Expanding What Sex Can Mean
One of the ideas we explore is that sex can mean much more than intercourse.
When we give ourselves a broader understanding of intimacy, we create room to discover different ways of feeling close and experiencing pleasure. Touch, affection, and honest conversations about desire can become part of an intimate life that keeps evolving.
In the episode, I share what I mean by “orgasmic intimacy” and explore how learning new skills together can open up possibilities for pleasure and connection.
I want you to feel permission to stay curious about what feels good to you now. Your intimate life can grow alongside you.
Communication and Connection as We Age
We also talk about how communication can transform relationships.
It can feel vulnerable to express what you want, describe what has changed, or ask your partner to try something new. Yet those conversations give us a chance to understand each other more deeply.
Cultural expectations can leave us carrying unrealistic ideas about how sex should look, how desire should happen, or what aging is supposed to mean for our relationships. In this conversation, I invite you to question those assumptions and consider what feels meaningful and fulfilling to you.
Learning together can become a source of connection in itself. There is always more to discover about the person you love.
My Wolverine Mindset for Aging
I also share my “Wolverine mindset” as we discuss aging, resilience, and longevity.
For me, this part of the conversation is about approaching the years ahead with curiosity and a willingness to keep growing. I want to remain engaged with life, keep learning, and make space for experiences that bring connection and vitality.
That spirit matters in our intimate lives, too. We can ask new questions, explore different approaches, and let our understanding of pleasure evolve.
