What If Orgasm Is a Skill You Can Learn? My Conversation on the Come Curious Podcast

One of my favorite things about talking with curious, open-minded people is that we get to challenge old myths and replace them with possibility.

That’s exactly what happened when I joined Florence Bark and Reed Amber on the Come Curious Podcast—a show known for its refreshingly honest conversations about sex, relationships, pleasure, and everything most people were never taught.

The hosts have created an incredible space where no topic is off limits, making it the perfect place to explore one of my favorite subjects: our extraordinary capacity for pleasure.

The Biggest Myth About Orgasm

One of the most important ideas we discussed is something I’ve spent decades teaching:

Orgasm isn’t simply something you’re born knowing how to do. It’s a learnable skill.

Most of us receive little or no education about pleasure. Instead, we’re handed limiting beliefs, unrealistic expectations, or silence. But our bodies are capable of far more than we’ve been taught.

Just as we can learn to play an instrument or develop athletic ability, we can learn to become more orgasmic through awareness, practice, communication, and relaxation.

That possibility is incredibly empowering.

Expanding Male Pleasure Beyond Ejaculation

One topic I love sharing is how men can experience so much more than the traditional “one orgasm and it’s over” narrative.

During our conversation, we explored:

  • Male multiple orgasms
  • Separating orgasm from ejaculation
  • Developing ejaculatory choice
  • Recognizing the “point of no return”
  • Building greater stamina and confidence

Learning these skills can completely transform intimacy. Rather than racing toward the finish line, couples can enjoy longer, more connected experiences that create pleasure for everyone involved.

We also discussed one of my favorite techniques—the M Breath—which helps circulate sexual energy throughout the body and supports full-body pleasure instead of concentrating everything in one brief moment.

There Are More Types of Orgasm Than Most People Realize

One of the most exciting parts of this conversation was exploring the incredible diversity of orgasmic experiences available to both men and women.

We talked about:

  • Prostate pleasure and blended orgasms
  • Throat orgasms and overcoming the gag reflex
  • Orgasmic intercourse
  • Expanding pleasure during penetration
  • Whole-body orgasmic experiences

Our bodies are wonderfully adaptable, and when we approach pleasure with curiosity instead of performance pressure, we often discover sensations we never knew were possible.

Pleasure Is Good for Your Health

Regular readers know that I don’t separate sexuality from wellness.

Pleasure is one of our most powerful longevity practices.

Orgasm increases circulation, releases beneficial neurochemicals, supports emotional bonding, reduces stress, and helps regulate many of the systems that contribute to overall health and vitality.

When we prioritize intimate connection, we’re not being indulgent—we’re investing in our physical, emotional, and relational well-being.

Relationships Continue to Evolve

Florence, Reed, and I also explored how relationships are changing.

We discussed long-term non-monogamy, relationship anarchy, communication, and the importance of creating relationships that fit the people involved instead of trying to squeeze everyone into outdated models.

The common thread isn’t following one specific relationship structure.

It’s learning to communicate honestly, establish clear agreements, and create relationships built on trust, consent, and mutual pleasure.

The Future of Pleasure Technology

As always, I was excited to talk about where sexual wellness is headed.

Technology continues to create fascinating new opportunities—from innovative pleasure devices to connected experiences that help couples stay intimate across any distance.

I’m continually inspired by how rapidly this field is evolving and how these innovations are helping more people discover satisfying, connected, and pleasurable relationships.
